After collaborating with François Ruffin on the documentary Stand up women! (released in 2021) and having immersed us in the presidential campaign of Jean-luc Mélenchon with The rebellious (released in 2018), Gilles Perret returns to the cinema with his first fiction: Takeover. A social comedy that lifts the veil on the takeover of an SME in Haute-Savoie by a foreign investment fund. A critique of the excesses of the world of finance and its obscure actors.
The film
The film plunges us into the daily life of Cédric (Pierre Deladonchamps), a technician in a company specializing in precision mechanics in a small valley in Haute-Savoie. The factory must be sold again to an investment fund. Exhausted from having to depend on cynical speculators, Cédric and his childhood friends attempt the impossible: buy the factory by pretending to be financiers!
An ambitious cast
In a Haute-Savoie setting filmed with relish by Gilles Perret (from the Arve valley) Pierre Deladonchamps respond to Gregory Montel (the nice agent of the series Ten percent), Laetitia Dosch (Irreducible, At the same time) and Finnegan Oldfield (Cut, Mend the Living). Rufus and Jacques Bonnaffé complete this ambitious cast.
The film is presented this Friday, September 30 in preview at the Rex cinema in Sarlat at 8:30 p.m. in the presence of director Gilles Perret before a national release scheduled for October 19, 2022.
