(Toronto) Four pitchers shared an eight-hit shutout for the San Francisco Giants, who beat the Blue Jays 3-0 on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre.
Starter Ryan Walker overcame a stressful first inning and southpaw Alex Wood followed through into the seventh inning for the Giants (45-34), who have won 13 of their last 15 games.
“When we can all work together like this and be at our best, we’re unstoppable,” Walker said. It’s really nice to see everyone be at this level, and improve the others at the same time. »
Bo Bichette had three hits for the Blue Jays (43-37). Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman (7-4) picked up the loss, despite posting 12 strikeouts in six innings of work.
“I just thought he was amazing,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider said.
Bichette leads the American in hits (109) and in games with at least two hits (31).

After 106 pitches, Gausman was replaced by Nate Pearson in the seventh inning.
The Giants scored a run in the fifth inning against Gausman, before adding to their lead with a two-run double from Thairo Estrada in the ninth.
“It looks weird, but they’re built like that,” Schneider said. We knew we had to approach this game in a very specific way, especially with runners on base. »
