Valérie Grenier was ready for the giant slalom event, to be held on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, she could not qualify.

The Franco-Ontarian only participated in one event during these Olympic Games. The track made many skiers look bad, including Mikaela Shiffrin, who was also eliminated on the first lap.
Grenier had done well in the first two sections of the course, but in one of the last gates, her left arm snagged enough to knock her off the track.
She will therefore not be able to compete in the second round and thus fight for a medal.
