After experiencing school failure, Rachid Santaki now criss-crosses suburban France to convey his passion with a message: the love of words. He made dictation a popular meeting place.
On a Saturday afternoon, in a gymnasium in Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines), 350 inhabitants responded to an atypical invitation. At the maneuver, we find Rachid Santakia lover of words, who for ten years has been organizing giant dictations. “I’m touched, I’m moved, I see families, it’s beautiful. It’s the impact of the French language and that’s why I like doing dictations. In fact when you bring people together of all origins and backgrounds, it’s exceptional”says Rachid.
“The young people who interest me are young people like me”
The one nicknamed “Monsieur dictée” grew up in Seine-Saint-Denis. His parents came from Morocco when he was five years old. He never left. The entrepreneur has developed his activity. Today, he leads workshops for young people entering the world of work. Two repetitions, a baccalaureate level but without a diploma, he does not hide his chaotic career. “The young people who interest me are young people like me. I think my skill is to support them, to remobilize them (…)”comments Rachid Santaki. For a few editions, giant dictations have taken off.
