It is a relief. Ghanaian international Christian Atsu, a former Chelsea and Newcastle player, has been missing since several earthquakes shook southeastern Turkey and northern Syria on Monday (February 6th). on a Turkish radio, Tuesday, February 7, Mustafa Ozat, Spokesperson of the Hatayspor club where the player plays: “Christian Atsu was released [des décombres] hurt. Aged 31, Christian Atsu has 65 selections with the Ghana team. On Sunday, he was the author of the winning goal, in added time, for his team against that of Kasimpasa SK (1-0), and shared his joy on his Twitter account. It was a few hours before the terrible earthquake.
On Instagram, Hatayspor coach Volkan Demirel expressed his concern about this tragedy on Monday. “Help… I ask you to send all the resources you have, it is not only Hatay and Antakya. I beg you, I ask you. Please, please , for God’s sake! People are dying here…”
According to the latest figures, the human toll now stands at more than 4,800 dead.
