Sophie Durocher trained for months before arriving in the jungle of Panama last July for the filming of the second season of Get me out of here!.
Never one to do things by halves, she committed herself to an exercise program as soon as she knew she would be joining in the adventure. From January to July 2023, she worked hard.

The columnist of Newspaper and host of QUB even deprived herself of dessert to be at the top of her form alongside her comrades in misfortune from the most popular show of the winter, on TVA.
She actually prepared like an actress does before starring in an action film.
“I stopped drinking alcohol completely, started working out every day, and lost a good 20 pounds.”
She wasn’t going to Get me out of here! to make up the figure. Oh no! She really wanted to succeed the crowned queen of the first season, Andréanne A. Malette.

It is for this reason that her disappointment was total when she was eliminated in the sixth episode, broadcast on Sunday, especially since she wanted to win the $50,000 given to the winner’s foundation. In her case, she played for the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
“I had a plan in my head and I failed to achieve that goal. But at the same time, when I talk to myself, I say to myself: ‘I participated in the show, I faced my fears, I did all that’.”
“Just being there is exceedingly difficult. It’s hot and humid 24 hours a day. You’re eating poorly. You sleep under the stars, you get eaten by mosquitoes and what’s more you have spots in your face when you’re trying to sleep. With Dave Morissette snoring nearby and Rosalie Vaillancourt who decides to tell jokes to Philippe Laprise at 4 a.m.!”
Another Sophie
The communicator emerges grown, transformed even, from the Panamanian jungle, speaking of a professional experience that is among the most important for her.

“I proved to myself that when I set a goal, I am capable of putting everything in motion to achieve it.”
In addition, she showed her frosty side to Quebecers. “People point out how positive I am and how encouraging I am to others. In the last episode, we see me brushing Rosalie’s hair, I think people are discovering the velvet hand in the iron glove.”
Fear of heights
Sophie Durocher began the adventure as a warrior, succeeding in crossing two sections of the tallest skyscraper in Central America on a steel cable, all at a height of 163 meters while suffering from vertigo.
“My boyfriend [Richard Martineau] often tells me about the look I had during the height challenge. To go for hyper concentration, that, I didn’t think I had that in me. I still had to go to Panama to see what a courageous girl I am. I can say it, it’s not false modesty. I was able to test the limits of my courage and I went much further than I thought.”
She also took part in the challenge in which she and Philippe Laprise had to free Patricia Paquin as quickly as possible from her unfortunate position. Patricia, for those who missed it, was locked in a glass cage in which the water rose at the same time as snakes of all sizes were added.
If one day we offer an “All-Star” edition of Get me out of here!Sophie Durocher will be ready to pack her bags, even if she is no longer able to eat beans and rice, the campers’ basic menu.
