Nothing seems to be able to stop this young German team. After winning the U17 European champion title six months ago, the Nationalelf confirms its domination on the international scene. Germany was crowned under-17 world champion on Saturday December 2 in Surakarta, Indonesia. The young Germans won against France at the end of the penalty shootout (2-2, 4-3 on the tabs). This victory crowns this young German generation, evolving under the leadership of Christian Wück.
“We only played half-time out of two”
For a long time, the Nationalelf controlled its subject, asphyxiating the French team in the first period, and after having confirmed its domination on a penalty from Paris Brunner (29th). Captain Noah Darvich then hit the nail on the head in the 51st minute. If France, in numerical superiority since the 69th, experienced a revival of pride, thanks to Saimon Bouabre (53rd) and Mathis Amougou (85th), it especially stood out for its disorganization and its lack of precision, lacking too much occasions. “We only played one half out of two, I didn’t understand. I’m very disappointed for the group,” conceded Jean-Luc Vannuchi at the end of the match.
However, and after equalizing in the last moments of the game, France led during the penalty shootout before collapsing, despite the superb save by French goalkeeper Paul Argney on Paris Brunner’s shot (at 3 -3). But the sentence was only postponed by a few seconds, and sealed by AMugera Kabar, the Dortmund full-back, who then gave Germany the coronation. The blow is all the harder to absorb for the Bleuets, who have already lost to Germany during the Euro last June, again during a penalty shootout.
