Arriving from the United States, the 76-year-old Austrian-American will probably be able to continue his journey but he will have to leave his watch in Munich, said a customs spokesperson, Thomas Meister.

Criminal proceedings for tax fraud against the former governor of California have been initiated: Schwarzenegger should have declared the watch to customs and paid a tax because it will remain in the EU, Mr. Meister said.

According to the German daily Bild, which broke the story, the former interpreter of Terminator And Conan the Barbarian wanted to put this expensive watch up for auction on Thursday, during a dinner organized in the famous Austrian ski resort of Kitzbühel.

During this evening, works of art and valuable objects are to be put on sale and the funds raised will be used to support various climate projects of the Hollywood star.
