Gérard Depardieu excluded from the promotion of his latest film “Umami”

The producer and distributor of the next film with Gérard Depardieu has decided not to associate the actor with the promotion of the feature film. The actor is accused of gender-based and sexual violence by several women.

Zinc Film, the producer and distributor ofUmami, a film in which Gérard Depardieu plays the main role, has decided not to associate the actor with the promotion of the film which will be released in theaters on May 17. The production of the film says: “(…) we reassured ourselves of this, there were no incidents during the filming of the film. We questioned all the teams. No one reported any inappropriate behavior on the part of Gérard Depardieu to the during filming.”

A challenged exit

Umami is a film directed by Slony Sow which tells the story of a great starred chef, Gabriel Carvin (played by Gérard Depardieu), who decides to go to Japan when his personal life changes. This trip is an opportunity for him to do some introspection. Sandrine Bonnaire, Kyozo Nagatsuka, Rod Paradot and Bastien Bouillon complete the cast.
