In 1992, Gérard Depardieu separated from his first wife Élisabeth Guignot, mother of his two children Guillaume and Julie; the divorce will not be formalized until 2006! In the same year, the actor of the films The goat, Cyrano de Bergerac, Asterix and Obelix versus Caesar or Maigret, again becomes the father of a little girl named Roxane. A baby born from his brief romance with actress, director, screenwriter and writer Karine Silla. Born in Dakar, Senegal, she is particularly known for having played in the popular series of the 1990s, Les Cordiers, judge and cop.
Interviewed by the magazine SHE in 2007, she returned to their short love affair: “We met in New York and I followed him to Paris, where I discovered that he was a little less separated than he claimed (…) Gérard was totally overwhelmed by his feelings. He was torn between his wife and myself, who was only 25 years old (…) For him, it was inhuman to leave a woman with whom he had spent thirty years and with whom he had two children.“
Karine Silla, who turned their daughter Roxane in her first feature film entitled A butterfly kiss in 2011, however, lived badly the period during which she lived her complicated love story with Gérard Depardieu. “I suffered from things left unsaid. Corridor noises. Elisabeth, for whom I have the greatest tenderness, because I can understand her grief, has long conveyed the idea that Roxane was not Gérard’s daughter. Roxane Depardieu has indeed been recognized by Gérard in the civil status. The young woman, a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, is an artist who has already exhibited. In 2016, she presented Mr Otto Noselong at the Catherine Houard gallery. The same year, she also revealed that she was a lesbian and in a relationship.
Since the end of her story with the legendary actor, Karine Silla has found love again with Vincent Perez, father of her three children: Iman (born May 2, 1999) and the twins Pablo and Tess (born in 2003).
