Accused of “rapes” and “sexual assault“, Gérard Depardieu had requested the cancellation of his indictment before the Paris investigation chamber, “on the grounds of the absence of serious evidence“. But justice did not agree with him. On Thursday March 10, 2022, the Paris Court of Appeal confirmed this indictment, as explained by the Paris Attorney General, Rémy Heitz, in a press release relayed by AFP.

“The investigating chamber thus considers that there are, at this stage, serious or concordant indications which justify that Gérard Depardieu remains under investigation.“, says Rémy Heitz. The investigation is therefore ongoing. The complainant, Charlotte Arnould, had presented herself to the gendarmerie of Lambesc, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, at the end of August 2018 to file a complaint against the actor. 22 years old at the time of the facts, she had revealed her identity during the month of December 2021 on Twitter, regretting to always see him working while she spends her “time to survive“.

He also has many upcoming projects, including Twins by Lamberto Bava, Cetus by Frédéric Forestier or even The green shutters, by Jean Becker. An apprentice actress, singer and pianist, Charlotte Arnould has known the monster of cinema since her earliest childhood. She reportedly went to her home in August 2018 to discuss her career and rehearse a role. She denounces, to the police, several “digital penetrations“imposed and a”non-consensual cunnilingus“.
My wish was in no way to achieve it
During his free hearing at the Parisian PJ, Gérard Depardieu had recognized some of the facts. He admitted to having touched Charlotte Arnould but assured that she was “fully consenting“.”I felt in his gaze and his behavior a curiosity and understanding that pushed me to go furtherhe explained. If I had felt any resistance or opposition, she wouldn’t have needed to say a word, I would have stopped immediately.
