Gérard Collomb, former Minister of the Interior and ex-mayor of Lyon, died at the age of 76

The former Minister of the Interior, Gérard Collomb, died on Saturday November 25 at the age of 76, France Télévisions learned from his entourage, confirming information from Lyon Mag. The former mayor of Lyon announced that he was suffering from stomach cancer in September 2022. His fight against the disease ended at the end “a little over a year of struggle”details the magazine.

Arriving at the Ministry of the Interior in May 2017, after the first election of Emmanuel Macron, he finally submitted his resignation in October 2018 to devote himself to the town hall of Lyon. He will be mayor for a little over a year, until 2020. He was also elected deputy for Rhône twice, between 1981 and 1986, then from 1986 to 1988.
