Géraldine Maillet explodes live in “TPMP”

In 2003, French actress Marie Trintignant died at the hands of her companion Bertrand Cantat in Vilnius (Lithuania). Sentenced to eight years in prison by the Lithuanian courts, the famous singer was finally released in 2007 after only three years of incarceration. Following the dissolution of the Noir Désir group in 2010, Bertrand Cantat founded a new group called Detroit in 2013 and a third called PAZ in 2020.

This Wednesday February 7, 2024, the one who is a father of two children unveiled his new single, entitled The Angle with his group Detroit. If the 59-year-old singer can count on the support of certain loyal fans, public opinion is still shocked at each announcement of an artistic project emanating from Bertrand Cantat who nevertheless took the life of a woman.

The same evening, Cyril Hanouna asked his columnists to give their opinion on the set of his show Do not touch My TV. If most were outraged to learn that Bertrand Cantat continues to sing and perform in concerts, Gilles Verdez did not hesitate to defend him, recalling that he served the sentence imposed on him by the courts.

Conversely, Géraldine Maillet let her anger explode on this great musical return of the 59-year-old singer : “He can live off the fact that he was a singer for Noir Désir, so financially everything is going well for him and that’s good. But I think of Marie Trintignant’s mother who never recovered from the assassination of her daughter. She died with a swollen face from the blows… Today, the message is that you can hit your wife, you can kill her, massacre her, she dies… it takes 8 years, it doesn’t take only 3, he comes out and today he goes on stage, it’s catastrophic!” she said.

And to conclude: “Those who go to see him in concert, I find it obscene. There are even women who are in love with Bertrand Cantat who write to him, it disgusts me!”.
