Gérald Darmanin, the resigning Minister of the Interior, is the guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2 on Wednesday, September 18.

After several weeks of silence, the resigning Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, is on the set of “4 Vérités”, Wednesday, September 18. His word was expected since at the end of the morning, he will meet Michel Barnier with Gabriel Attal. Their last meeting had been a little tense and Gérald Darmanin had said that Michel Barnier had told him that he was going to increase taxes. Matignon had denied it.

“I am not in the habit of recounting discussions with anyone, neither with my group nor with the Prime Minister, who received me last Saturday. But what is certain is that we, to enter the government, this is what Gabriel Attal said and this is what we say in the former majority (…) we have a certain number of requests”explains Gérald Darmanin. He emphasizes that “Michel Barnier even said that he is for tax justice. Generally, when we say that we are for tax justice, it is because we are for increasing taxes.”. For the resigning minister, it is “There is no question of us entering into a government or being able to support in the National Assembly (…) a government which increases taxes”.
