Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin wrote to prefects on Monday, November 22, asking them to strengthen health pass controls in restaurants, in the face of a rebound in the Covid-19 epidemic. “It is imperative to re-mobilize all the players concerned by the application of the health pass in order to limit the effects of the new rise in contamination”, developed the Minister of the Interior in a telegram addressed to the prefects and consulted by AFP.

“I ask you to bring together without delay the departmental representatives of the hotel and catering trades in order to remind them of their obligations relating to the health crisis”, he added, referring to the control of the health pass of customers and employees. In this note, Gérald Darmanin also asks for “keep mobilization at a high level” law enforcement, “by resorting, if necessary, to the administrative closure of establishments”. “We have already returned to the level of controls for the month of September. We must step up this effort”, he insisted.

On Monday, the president of the employers’ union of independent hotel and catering, Didier Chenet, also called for better control of the health pass. “To those who do not control the health pass of their customers and employees, I tell you: this is not acceptable because, beyond you, it is the entire profession that you are endangering. exposing it to a general closure measure “, said Didier Chenet.
