The Minister of the Interior decided, on Sunday March 10, to take legal action after calls to kill police officers heard during the feminist demonstration on March 8 in Paris and reported by the SGP Police Unit union to the Minister of the Interior.

“Kerosene is not for planes, it’s for burning cops”, protesters chanted during this rally as part of International Women’s Day. Several videos relaying these slogans were broadcast on social networks.

The general secretary of the SGP Police Unit, Grégory Joron, reported these calls to the minister on Sunday morning, according to the police union, who decided to take legal action. In a message posted on X, Gérald Darmanin describes these remarks as “scandalous”. “I contact the Paris public prosecutor”he writes, adding: “Everything will be done to find those responsible for this incitement to commit a crime.”
