“The question would be complicated and long, but we could work all summer”, the minister projects himself in this interview with France Bleu RCFM. Gérald Darmanin proposes to start “work on the bottom” autonomy project “before the first round of the presidential election to show that the word given by the government, by the President of the Republic and by myself is serious”. This meeting will have to take place in Paris “since I will not have the right to travel due to the reserve period”says Gérald Darmanin.

A first day of “dialogue”

During his first day of visit to Corsica, Gérald Darmanin observed “differing points of view” between the various Corsican elected officials met. “We discussed with all the active forces, including those most opposed to the government. I heard them, and in particular those of the youth. So I think it’s a first day of dialogue”relates the Minister of the Interior to France Bleu RCFM. “We ended this meeting, sometimes with differences, but in any case by listening to each other, I think it’s a good first step”says Gérald Darmanin.
