Imam Hassan Iquioussen has been on file S for 18 months, confirmed Gérald Darmanin during a trip to Marseille on Monday August 8. The administrative justice had urgently suspended her deportation to Morocco on Friday, considering that she would carry a “disproportionate harm” to her “private and family life”. The Ministry of the Interior immediately announced that it would appeal this decision to the Council of State.

“I signed an expulsion order for this gentleman as I did for 74 other people who had made separatist speeches since I became Minister of the Interior”, said Gérald Darmanin on Monday. The minister said “to regret” the decision of the administrative court of Paris, qualifying Hassan Iquioussen as “hate preacher” which does not have “nothing to do on the soil of the Republic”.

This imam “is radicalized, he makes anti-Semitic remarks”he said again. “I await with serenity the decision of the Council of State. (…) But if ever it were to prove us wrong, we will study with the parliamentarians the means of giving the Republic the strength to defend itself, by modifying the law if he [faut]he added.
