The Minister of the Interior asked the prefects on Wednesday December 29 to strengthen the protection of elected officials “in the context of the examination of the vaccine pass bill”. In a telegram addressed to the prefects, Gérald Darmanin asks to systematize the integration of the homes and offices of elected officials in the police and gendarmerie patrols.

According to the letter, the parliamentary debate on this new bill aimed at transforming the health pass into a vaccination pass is “likely to give rise to threats or even acts of action against elected officials”.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the personal garage of the LREM deputy for Oise Pascal Bois, in Chambly, was damaged and hostile inscriptions possibly linked to the vaccination pass, tagged on a perimeter wall of his home. The Senlis prosecutor confirmed the “presence of tags that may suggest a motivation linked to hostility to the vaccine pass”.
