George Springer homers and Blue Jays beat White Sox 5-1

George Springer, Bo Bichette and Davis Schneider all homered in the Toronto Blue Jays’ 5-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday.

Chris Bassitt struck out seven batters in five innings of work, without allowing a run, to help the Blue Jays end a three-game losing streak.

Bassitt (5-6) gave up five hits.

Springer hit a long ball in the second inning after Daulton Varsho’s walk against Nick Nastrini. It was his fourth home run this season.

Bichette hit his home run, also his fourth, in the fourth inning.

Nastrini (0-4) allowed three hits in five innings on the mound. He struck out five batters and walked four.

The White Sox lost their sixth straight game, improving their record to 15-40. This is the team’s worst record in its history after 55 games.

Gavin Sheets hit a long ball in the eighth inning against Erik Swanson to score the White Sox’s only run in the loss.
