The Gatineau City Police Service (SPVG) is investigating an armed assault that occurred late Monday afternoon on Eddy Street, in the Hull sector.
Law enforcement was called around 4:45 p.m. to go near the intersection of Boulevard du Casino and Boulevard de la Carrière.
On site, the police discovered a man in his forties with injuries possibly caused by a firearm.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he is now out of danger.
According to initial information collected by investigators, the man was hit by firearm projectiles while he was on Eddy Street in the company of another man, aged around fifty. He suffered minor injuries.
The suspect in this case, a man in his thirties, was arrested on Leduc Street and will be interviewed by the police.
The information collected so far leads the police to believe that this attack was targeted.
