Gatineau | Shots fired at a bus

(Gatineau) Police are investigating shots fired on Friday night at a Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) bus in the Mont-Bleu sector, in the Hull sector, in Gatineau .

Around 9:30 a.m., the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) reported no arrests in this case.

SPVG police officers were called to go to an STO workshop around 1 a.m. after damage was observed on a bus whose driver was finishing his shift.

He told police officers that he heard loud noises as he drove near the intersection of Mont-Bleu and Cité-des-Jeunes boulevards. He then stopped his bus to carry out an inspection, without however noticing anything abnormal; he was not injured.

No passengers were in the public vehicle at the time.

It was not until the workshop that the driver noticed that the bus was damaged.

By examining the damage to the bus in turn, the police were able to determine that it was caused by projectiles from a firearm.

A perimeter was immediately erected at the intersection of Mont-Bleu and Cité-des-Jeunes boulevards to protect the scene. Investigators, as well as a crime scene technician, went to the scene to comb through the scene.

The SPVG asks anyone with information about this case to contact it.
