Gatineau | An employee in a CHSLD accused of sexual assault

(Gatineau) A beneficiary of a residential and long-term care center (CHSLD) in Gatineau was arrested on Friday morning in connection with charges of sexual assault on a person in his care.

In a press release sent by the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG), we learn that Pierre Alain, aged 61, is accused of having committed a sexual assault while performing his duties with the residents of the CHSLD Lionel-Émond. of Gatineau.

The investigation into this case would have started in mid-November, according to what was reported by the SPVG, following a complaint received for touching committed by an employee of the establishment located in the Hull sector.

Also according to the police statement, the investigators had to obtain the collaboration of the victim’s legal guardians “since the latter’s state of health did not allow her to file a complaint by herself”.

This investigation would have been triggered as part of the concerted intervention process to combat elder abuse, which applies when an intervenor believes that a person is the victim of abuse that could constitute a criminal or penal offense.

The Outaouais Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) reacted in turn by ensuring that the employee concerned is no longer employed by the organization and that he “has been withdrawn work as soon as allegations have been brought to (his) attention ”.
