(Quebec) A man in his twenties lost his life after having violently left the road in Percé, Gaspésie, on the night of Saturday to Sunday.
Emergency services went to Route 132 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the L’Anse-à-Beaufils area because of the swerve.
When they arrived at the scene, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers found the driver alone in his vehicle, which had ended up in a ditch.
“He would have lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason for the moment and he would have rolled over several times,” said SQ spokesperson Béatrice Dorsainville.
The man was pronounced dead when he was taken to the hospital.
A police officer specializing in collision investigation carried out the analysis of the scene, so that Route 132 was completely closed to traffic for a good part of the night in the sector. It reopened around 7 a.m. on Sunday.
An autopsy will be performed on the victim’s body and the SQ investigation is continuing in this case.
