Gaspésie and Bas-Saint-Laurent still on the list of travel destinations for Quebecers

The 15the CAA Quebec’s recently published survey on vacation intentions tells us that the Gaspésie and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions are once again in the top 5 destinations favored by Quebecers for traveling in the province.

However, Gaspésie is no longer the first region in the rankings. It was dethroned this year by the Quebec region, which has become the favorite of Quebecers.

Like last year, 57% of people who plan to travel this summer will do so in Quebec. They ranked their destination as follows:

This year, each vacationer plans to spend $1,020 to get away from everyday life. This is a similar amount to last year.

Those who do not choose Quebec will opt this year elsewhere in the country for the majority of Ontario, the Atlantic provinces and Western Canada.

In the United States, Florida and Maine will be the most popular destinations while in Europe, France remains number 1 followed by Italy, Spain and for the first time the United Kingdom.

Launch of the Gaspésie Tourism season

Around a hundred businesses and partners from the Gaspésie tourism and bio-food industries launched the tourist season in Gaspésie on Thursday, during a meeting in Carleton-sur-Mer.

Tourisme Gaspésie brings together a total of 8 MRCs, including Matanie.

The event made it possible to present the Tourisme Gaspésie destination promotion campaign and to unveil the 2024 edition of the Gaspésie Gourmande Guide-Magazine.
