Director Gaspar Noé is making a comeback with “Vortex”, a moving film about the end of life, which will be released this Wednesday, April 13 in cinemas. He was inspired for this film by his mother’s illness: that of Alzheimer’s.

Director Gaspar Noé returns to cinemas on Wednesday April 13 with his new film: “Vortex”. A film that tells the intimacy of an old coupleshattered by Alzheimer’s disease. The disease isolates, so Gaspar Noé films and shows his characters in parallel in two separate frames. In a convenience store, the woman wanders through a convenience store, her gaze lost. Next door, her husband is looking for her, mad with worry.

Alzheimer’s disease is a very personal theme for the filmmaker. “I saw my mother lose her mind, when she was the most intellectual of the intellectuals of Buenos Aires (Argentina)“, says Gaspar Noé. His original direction seduced the actors: the film took shape without scripted dialogue. I liked that we had a very fine and small script, which was almost like a huge note of intent”explains Alex Lutz, who plays the role of an only son forced to become the protector of his parents.
