The price of gasoline continues to climb across the country, and the trend will not stop over the next week, forecast experts.

According to the Canadian Automobile Association, the average price rose to $2.06 per liter in Canada, up nearly three cents from the previous day and 11 cents from last week.

The price even exceeded $2.10 per liter in certain regions of Quebec.

According to Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, the escalation is expected to continue over the next few days. On Twitter, he even predicted that the national average price would reach $2.12 per liter on Monday afternoon.

Oil companies are taking advantage of supply problems aggravated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine to raise prices.

The strong demand caused by the end of the confinement also contributed to the increase in the price of gasoline.
