As health professionals who are constantly working to prevent and cure the various ailments and problems affecting Quebecers, we ask the National Assembly and the Government of Quebec to comprehensively plan the abandonment of natural gas in buildings: by prohibiting the connection and installation of a natural gas heating appliance in new residential, commercial and institutional constructions; by prohibiting the renewal of natural gas equipment for the entire building sector, drawing inspiration from the regulation for oil-fired heating appliances; and by mandating accurate information about the risks of using gas-fired appliances (including gas stoves) to human health.
