The drop in gas consumption last year in France results not only from the high price of the resource but also from the “civility” of the French and the mild climate, assures the boss of the second European gas carrier.
“Gas consumption has fallen by 9%” in France in 2022, announced Friday, February 10, 2022 Thierry oublie, CEO of GRT Gaz, on franceinfo.
“It’s due to a change in the behavior of the French, because of good citizenship but also the very high prices that we have experienced (…) The second effect is the climate effect, we had a fairly mild winter until ‘here”he explained.
GRT Gaz is Europe’s second-largest gas carrier. The company is present in three of the four LNG ports in France.
