A robot mower now does the work of gardeners for them. Demand is increasing for this booming product, which is becoming cheaper and cheaper. Report to Beruges in Vienna.
No more noise, engine failures or dirty spark plugs. the robot lawn mower has become the new star of the garden, because it mows on command. A retired couple from Beruges (Vienna) programmed it on his phone: it starts every day at noon. A relief for these retirees who have health problems. “It’s awesome. It doesn’t use any fuel, apart from a little electricity, but not much.”testifies Guy Reveilaud. An electric wire buried in the garden makes it possible to delimit how far the robot can go.
Prices range from 600 to 5,000 euros depending on the model. Last year, sales increased by 10%. “Today, we are at 90 machines a year, you see the progression, and we estimate that we will go up to 150 machines in two or three years”says a store manager. Building on their success, the delivery times for robot mowers are getting longer.
