Gard still has the highest incidence rate in Occitanie

The Occitanie Regional Health Agency issued a new update on the covid-19 pandemic on Thursday, and mentions “an extremely powerful wave“. The peak of the fifth wave does not appear to be reached in the region yet. In the Gard, the incidence rate is now 760 cases per 100,000 inhabitants; this is the highest rate in the region.

In Lozère, the incidence rate is 306 / 100,000 inhabitants.

ARS confirms a single case of the new Omicron variant in the Occitanie region. Several other cases, 300 in total, are also under surveillance.
