GAMIQ shared its nominations as well as the visual of its 17e edition at Tubo Haüs, in Montreal. The artists Fuck Tout, JP “Le Pad” Tremblay, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Lydia Képinski and P’tit Belliveau are in the running for the GAMIQ award for Artist of the Year.

The Revelation of the year will be played between Magi Merlin, Pateaugeoire, Ping Pong Go, Tamara Weber and Thick Glasses. The prize for Pop Album of the Year will be awarded to Ariane Roy, Claudia Bouvette, Étienne Coppée, La Bronze, Lydia Képinski, Lysandre, Salomé Leclerc, Sophia Bel, Valence or Virginie B.

The festival will reward artists for their albums, mini-albums and music videos. The 2022 edition of GAMIQ has a record number of registrations. New music video categories have been added to accommodate the amount of submitted productions, the organization says.

A category will be devoted to festivals: BleuBleu, the Emerging Music Festival in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, FRIMAT, La Noce and Le Festif! are here in competition.

For media of the year, the nominees are CHYZ 94.3, CISM, CKIA FM, Le Canal Auditif and Sorts-tu? Other categories in the industry (producer, record label, press relations, etc.) will be honored.

Ping Pong Go, Tamara Weber, zouz, Miels, Narcisse, Bolduc Tout Croche and many others will take the stage for performances during the gala. A celebration of the work of composer and performer René Lussier is also on the program.

The GAMIQ will take place at the Théâtre Plaza on November 19 and will be hosted by Émile Rioux.
