Gabriel, the folk musical talent from Saône-et-Loire, releases his second album

After a first EP released in 2020 and unanimously recognized by critics, Gabriiel (with two i) releases his second album, Treasure in the garden. A title that sounds like an invitation to contemplation, between folk and blues.

He travels through the Burgundian countryside with his funny little guitar, sits down by the river and enjoys a gentle musical break. Gabriel likes to wander from style to style and finds his inspiration in the world around him. “What inspires me is people and nature”, he confides.

Awarded a Web Award in 2008 – in partnership with France Inter – for his previous project and after having wandered from stage to stage, it is on his native land, in Saône-et-Loire that Gabriiel has chosen to present his new opus. A return to basics and a reunion with beautiful haunting and caressing melodies. Reggae, hip hop, folk and blues… he follows a musical path filled with emotions and vibrant sensations. “I write songs and I put them to music. I happen to sing in English so we call it folk but for me the influences are very varied”, he assures.

With its nomadic studio slung over its shoulder, the ‘‘Somewhere Studio’ as he nicknamed him, Gabriiel embarked three accomplices on the roads of France to record these ten unadorned tracks. Mary Clop on vocals, Yann Phayphet on double bass and Vincent Pellerin on guitar. A human and musical adventure off the beaten track that sticks to his childhood dreams. “I’ve been making music since I was 16, it’s the only thing I know how to do and I’m lucky to live from my passion”, he rejoices.

Gently, as if to better incite us to introspection and questioning, the melodist sets to music a little treasure of memories and feelings. Author, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Gabriiel comes to deliver a whole new universe guided by the timbre of a delicate voice.
