Earlier in the afternoon, on a cattle farm in Haute-Garonne, the Prime Minister listened to farmers’ grievances before promising “a shock of simplification”. He thus announced ten measures including a simplification of standards, a reduction in administrative controls and the much-awaited end to the increase in the tax on non-road diesel (GNR).

Some are talking about lifting the barriers

The Prime Minister also promised more controls on companies that do not respect the Egalim law and emergency aid of 50 million for the organic sector. Announcements which rather convinced the farmers he had come to see, some even mentioning a lifting of the dams. “There is a good chance that tomorrow afternoon the highway will be able to operate again”, said Jérôme Bayle, farmer.
