A warning and an immediate response. Gabriel Attal will receive the FNSEA and the Young Farmers on Tuesday afternoon. The majority union warned on Sunday that it was considering a resumption of actions if the Prime Minister’s recent announcements are not followed by concrete effects by the Agricultural Show, which will take place in Paris from February 24 to March 3 . The meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau and his delegate minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Matignon said on Monday February 12.
“We are not at the right tempo (…), we need to speed up the tempo,” warned the president of the FNSEA, Arnaud Rousseau, urging action by the government before the Show which begins on February 24 in Paris and where a number of politicians are expected, including the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron.
After two weeks of road blockages and sometimes tumultuous actions, the demonstrators broke camp at the beginning of February after three bursts of announcements from Gabriel Attal on subjects as diverse as pesticides, farmers’ pensions or synthetic meat. But since then there has been no “did not have a ministerial meeting” neither with the Minister of Agriculture nor with the Prime Minister, and “no follow-up point”lamented Arnaud Rousseau. “No one has any interest in walking around with us. Because if there is no meeting, in the end we will come back”he insisted.
