“We have a goal: get the country out of debt.” In front of the Renaissance group at the National Assembly, Tuesday April 2, Gabriel Attal announced the launch of a parliamentary mission “on the taxation of annuities”. This mission, led by the majority, will make proposals “by June”, said the Prime Minister.

“I wanted to entrust a mission to our majority, a mission led by Jean-René Cazeneuve, our budget rapporteur, with a representative from each group” of the majority, declared the Prime Minister, according to comments reported to AFP by Matignon, confirmed by franceinfo.

“The objective of this mission: to make proposals on the taxation of annuities, between now and June.”

Requested by franceinfo, Jean-René Cazeneuve confirms that he will lead this mission, alongside three other deputies: Nadia Haï for Renaissance, Jean-Paul Mattei for the MoDem and a Horizons deputy who has not yet been appointed. This new mission comes at a time when the presidential camp is divided on whether or not to increase taxes to reduce the deficit.
