The day after the national anti-harassment day, November 9, 2023, the government’s action continues. While the first lady of France, Brigitte Macron, a former teacher, mobilized with Gabriel Attal, the Minister of Education, the latter received reinforcements on November 16, 2023.
“On social networks, in class, in the playground, in sport, harassment is unacceptable”
In a video that he shared on his X account and through social networks, we found the entire French football team gathered around Kylian Mbappé. Facing the camera, the latter explains: “Normally when you go to school, you go there with pleasure”, before the rest of the Blues add: “Well yes, you find your friends, and your friends. You chat with them, you have fun, you laugh.”
In this clip filmed for a good cause, the coach, Didier Deschamps, who participates in Operation Yellow Pieces with Brigitte Macron adds: “Well, you also go to class to learn with your teachers, and to take your tests.”
And the message is clear, ten months after the suicide of little Lucas, 13, which shocked the whole of France. The players know this well, and therefore raise awareness among the youngest, who adore them: “In any case, you don’t go to school to be unhappy. It’s clear, you don’t go to school to be made fun of. To be insulted, to be hit. You don’t don’t go to school to feel alone, sad. There are social networks too. Frankly, it’s not better. Whether it’s on social networks, in class, in the playground, in sports, harassment, this is unacceptable”.
“There’s even a number you can call. It’s 3018”
In fact, they send this crucial message: “If you are the victim of harassment, don’t be ashamed, don’t keep it to yourself. We support you, and believe me, we are not the only ones. There are plenty of people who are there for you. help. Your friends, your family, your teachers, there’s even a number you can call. It’s 3018.”. And added: “Talking about it won’t make the problem worse, on the contrary, it can solve it. If you see that a friend, a girlfriend or a classmate is suffering, do like us, we would do in the French Team, support him. Talk about it to those around you.”
