Usually, Wednesday at the National Assembly is reserved for questions for the government. But since April 3, Gabriel Attal has taken this place, for a single political scene unprecedented in France. “It’s very controlled”, underlines Gaspard Gantzer, former communications advisor to François Hollande. For three months, the Prime Minister’s communication has been summed up by one precept: take the spotlight by sticking to current events as much as possible.
“Action reaction”
The agricultural crisis breaks out, Gabriel Attal launches a battery of announcements from a farm, his notes placed on a bale of hay. The Vigipirate plan is enhanced, he goes to a station with a message. Thus, since January, the tenant of Matignon has been collecting national press headlines. For Franck Louvrier, former communications advisor to Nicolas Sarkozy, this communication is reminiscent of that of the former president Les Républicains: “action reaction”.
