“I defended the appointment of a new Prime Minister not coming from the parties of the central bloc, with a government representing a broad spectrum of sensibilities from the Republican left to the right, which would probably allow us to move forward in the interests of the French people.”the resigning Prime Minister indicated on Friday, August 23, in a message to the deputies of his group Together for the Republic, of which he is president. He met Emmanuel Macron the same day for two hours, while the president received at the Elysée the representatives of the main political forces of the country.
Gabriel Attal also proposed a “action pact for the French”that’s to say “a programmatic basis recalling our values and our projects, reaching out to other political forces with openings on tax justice regarding super-profits, or on institutional questions”.
Gabriel Attal also announced to Emmanuel Macron that his group “has spoken very clearly in favour of adopting an immediate motion of censure in the case of a government including ministers from La France Insoumise”. “All the other groups in the central bloc have adopted the same position”he said.
