Gabin and Félix Richoux Irancy 2017 | Old school but still cool

I would even qualify this wine as uber classic. It is a little old school, with a very refined style, a little rustic, closer to the earth than to the fruit.

This is often the style of the wines of Irancy, very close to Chablis. The Pinot Noirs are marked by freshness and minerality first, supported by fresh, crunchy fruit.

The nose of this Gabin and Félix Richoux Irancy 2017 opens here with notes of earth and undergrowth, then cherry and faded rose. The mouth is based on a very pretty red fruit, but here again the mineral and earthy character takes its place. Very dry, firm and sappy, it also shows structure with moderate but firm tannins. A long, dense and tight finish suggests good aging potential.

Pour into a carafe and enjoy with roasted quail, braised veal cheeks, pan-fried wild mushrooms.
