Future of hockey | Several former players on the committee launched by Quebec

We know a little more about the composition of the government committee responsible for examining the future of hockey in Quebec, which will be presented by Premier François Legault this afternoon at the Bell Center. Chaired by the former goalkeeper of the National Hockey League and RDS analyst, Marc Denis, the committee made up of several well-known personalities from the hockey world will have to submit its recommendations by April 2022.

According to several sources consulted by The sun, the following stakeholders have accepted the mandate offered to them by the Quebec government:

  • Marc Denis, former NHL player, vice-president of hockey for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the QMJHL and analyst at RDS;
  • Jocelyn thibault, new general manager of Hockey Quebec;
  • Stephane Quintal, former defenseman and senior vice-president of the NHL player safety department;
  • Stephane Auger, former referee and responsible for hockey development and operations at the Quebec Student Sport Network (RSEQ);
  • Martin Lavallee, Deputy Commissioner Gilles Courteau in the QMJHL;
  • Caroline Ouellette, associate coach with the Concordia Stingers and recipient of four Olympic gold medals in women’s hockey;
  • Danielle Sauvageau, speaker, former coach and former executive director of the national women’s hockey program;
  • Dominic ricard, former coach and general manager in the QMJHL and players’ agent for Pat Brisson’s firm CAA;
  • Kim St-Pierre, former hockey player and new member of the Hockey Hall of Fame;
  • Genevieve Paquette, Vice-President, Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation.
