“Future Fiction,” Karma Glider | The duty

Karma Glider is a new Montreal group stamped Mothland, led by the ex-Heat leader, Susil Sharma, and in which he involved his accomplices Jean-Philippe Bourgeois (Fefe Dobson), Jean-Philippe Godbout (Laurence-Anne) and Charlie Neufeld (Heat). Presentations briefly made, let’s look at the content of their first microalbum, Future Fiction : catchy, engaging, carefully chaotic. Very rock’n’roll, in fact. It starts strong with In Deep Ocean and its sounds, its very saturated voices. Are we entitled to say that, according to the fangirl who writes these lines, the music and the aesthetic envelope proposed by Karma Glider evoke those of a certain Julian Casablancas – period The Strokes, obviously, but also those more recent, with The Voidz? Oops, too late… Joking aside, the sequel is a series of good titles, like the excessive Burning Up and the darkest Shortwave Drifterwhich frankly make you want to see them on stage…
