The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on Thursday recalled a foie gras parfait from the Furley brand on which the information necessary for safe consumption was missing.
On the glass jar of Furley Meatloaf Wine Inc., the statement “Keep refrigerated” was missing.
MAPAQ thus advises citizens not to consume the product and to return it to the store if it has not been kept in the refrigerator at all times since the time of purchase.
The products containing the missing information were sold until January 18 at Hudson, it was said.
“The operator is voluntarily recalling the product in question. It has agreed with MAPAQ to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. […] Even if the targeted product does not show any signs of tampering or a suspicious odor, its consumption may represent a health risk,” MAPAQ said in its press release.
Furthermore, no case of disease associated with the consumption of this food has been reported so far.
