Regine’s relatives said goodbye to him on Monday May 9, during his funeral organized at the Père-Lachaise cemetery (20th arrondissement of Paris). Unfortunately, this ultimate tribute was somewhat spoiled by a setback which prevented many friends of the queen of the Parisian night, who died on May 1 at the age of 92, from coming.

The day after Régine’s funeral, marked in particular by the very atypical arrival of her coffin in a horse-drawn carriage, at the height of the extravagance of La Grande Zoa, The Parisian looks back on the ceremony which also attracted many fans. The latter, by the hundreds, were piled up outside the crematorium and the Salle de la Coupole. As the daily newspaper clarifies, the building is under construction, a renovation which had an impact on Régine’s funeral. “The only thing she hadn’t planned was the works“, reacted an admirer of Régine to the Parisian. All the relatives of the great singer and actress could not attend the final farewell. According to our information, the maximum capacity was 100 people due to the works and personalities close to Régine could not make the trip. Among them, among others, Michel Sardou and his wife Anne-Marie Perier, or even Hervé Vilard, Dave, who were for the last two come to visit him at La Maison des Artistes, place of life where Régine had been admitted there is a few months due to his fragile health.

Unable to assure many personalities that they would be seated, the funeral organization was forced to ask them not to move, told us a member of the funeral director.

However, the party was not spoiled. Relatives and friends, Régine counted a long list. Her adored granddaughter, Daphné Rotcajg, her second husband Roger Choukroun were present, as was Marc Lavoine who found his ex-wife Sarah Poniatowski, in emotion. The singer and coach of The Voice spoke at the ceremony. “Marc Lavoine reads a text in which he has skilfully slipped lyrics from his songs“, reports The Parisian. Catherine Ringer performed a capella the Little Papers.

It’s time to get the disco balls

Régine had planned her funeral down to the smallest detail and the heartbreaking message she had written for the occasion, printed in the ceremony booklet, was revealed. “Before the curtain falls on all these beautiful years shared with you, my family and my loved ones are going to tell you a few words about me… We are going to listen to and sing some of my songs together. My Catherine Ringer will interpret my Petits papiers for youcould we read on the booklet. Then it will be time to pick up the disco balls and remind you that I have lived a thousand lives with you.” “I only take the best. See you soon“, she concluded her message.
