Funeral of Micaela, countess of Paris: the beautiful gift of her relatives for the farewell

Princess Micaela, Countess of Paris, bowed out at her home on Sunday March 13 at the age of 83. Nine days later, his relatives paid him a final tribute in the Saint-Germain de l’Auxerrois church, located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.

Princess Clotilde of Orléans, Prince Michel of France and his wife Baroness Barbara de Posch-Pastor, Chantal of France, François-Xavier de Sambucy de Sorgue and his son Alexis Francis-Boeuf had made the trip for a last goodbye to the Countess. To honor his memory, the clan had two busts made, one in the image of the princess, the other in the image of her husband Prince Henrydisappeared three years earlier and to whom she cared most in the world.

Princess Micaela’s life came to a halt for the first time in 2019, after the sudden death of her husband, Henri d’Orléans. At the time, overcome by fatigue, the Count of Paris preferred to cancel a trip to rest in the arms of his wife. Asleep, the Countess then summoned all visitors not to make too much noise so as not to wake him from sleep. What she didn’t know yet was that her husband had passed away: “When the nurse arrived for my treatment, I told her not to speak too loudly, the prince is sleeping. She leaned towards him and undeceived me. ‘Madam, he is dead’“, she revealed in the pages of Point of view.

Learning to live without her better half was particularly difficult for Micaela who only dreamed of one thing, leaving with him: “Sometimes I still resent him for not having taken me with him. To not be there. I relied on him a lot. We got up together every morning and left only when he was entertaining or going to rue de Lévis to do the shopping. We were a bit weird to each other, but our quirks blended in with each other and it was wonderful to be together.“. The Countess of Paris and her husband who she missed so much are now reunited for life.
