Funeral of Jean-Pierre Pernaut: David Douillet and his wife Vanessa united, facing the PAF in mourning

Have we ever seen such a meeting of the PAF? This Wednesday, March 9, 2022, hosts, journalists and other French TV personalities gathered in large numbers for a final tribute to Jean-Pierre Pernaut. The funeral of the popular host of the 1 p.m. TF1 newscast was held at the end of the morning in Paris, in the Sainte-Clotilde basilica. His widow Nathalie Marquay and her children were well surrounded for this trying day…

The many curious people gathered in front of the religious building saw David Douillet and his wife Vanessa (Carrara) pass by. The parents of the little Blanche (5 years old) arrived hand in hand, sending a few shy smiles to the onlookers and journalists surrounding them. Together since 2014, the former judoka has now been married to this hypnotherapist and former municipal councilor for the town of Bourg-en-Bresse for four years. Remember that this 53-year-old sportsman, converted into a politician and businessman, also has three other children with his ex-wife Valérie. Vanessa Carrara has two children born from a first union.

The couple thus found in the basilica a number of celebrities who came to bid farewell to Jean-Pierre Pernaut, who died a week ago of lung cancer, at the age of 71. The personalities of the PAF gathered as they rarely do: Claire Chazal, Michel Drucker, Anne-Claire Coudray, Jean-Pierre Foucault, Cyril Hanouna, Cécile de Ménibus, Laurent Delahousse, Arthur, Christophe Dechavanne, Laurence Ferrari, Nikos Aliagas, Denis Brogniart, Valérie Benaïm, Gilles Bouleau, Laurent Mariotte, Evelyne Dhéliat, Bernard Montiel… First lady Brigitte Macron also made the trip, along with former President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni ( see slideshow). On the political side, Valérie Pécresse and Christian Estrosi were also present.

Upon arrival, the coffin was greeted with a round of applause, as is usually the case when it comes to a popular personality. The deceased was then escorted into the basilica by his widow Nathalie Marquay, supported by her son Tom (18) and daughter Lou (19). The other two children of Jean-Pierre Pernaut, Olivier and Julia (born in 1981 and 1978 from his previous marriage to Dominique Bonnet) were also present.

Our condolences to the family and loved ones of Jean-Pierre Pernaut.
