The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Saint-Viateur church in Outremont and will be reserved for the family and close friends of the actor and philanthropist. Two of his children, Jean-Marie and Marie-Josée, will take the floor to honor his memory and wish him a last goodbye, while his daughter, Anne Elizabeth, will pay tribute to him in song with an a cappella interpretation of “La lamente to my brother”, a piece interpreted by his father.
In music, Marie-Élaine Thibert will perform Jean Lapointe’s success “Si on chantait ensemble” published in 1983 as well as “Les fleurs maladie” (1991). Singer Frayne McCarthy will sing, for his part, “I Believe / What a Wonderful World”, a song that actor and philanthropist loved.
On the political side, the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, and the former Prime Minister of Canada, Jean Chrétien, will also take the floor to pay tribute to the man who was also a senator.
Several Quebec personalities will take part in the celebrations, including the President and CEO of Quebecor, Pierre Karl Péladeau.
The public will however be able to follow the event live since the major networks will cover the event.
