Fun Game Challenge – Elise, Cards on the Table

Monique is an absurd party game of word associations that promises to spend delirious evenings!

4 to 5 cards are dealt each, depending on the number of players. The remaining cards form a draw pile.
The first player places a face-up card of his choice and reads it aloud, example “Goat”. 4 choices are available to you:
1. Place a Word card face up on top of the previous one. Your word must be related to the previous one. If the word has an obvious connection, for example “Cheese” with “Goat”, your association is validated by the other players and your turn is over. On the other hand, if your word sows doubt, another player intervenes and says “I don’t see the connection”. It will therefore be up to you to justify the relationship between the 2 words. Everyone listens to your explanation and then they vote.
2. Place a Word card face down. This card may or may not relate to the previous word. A player can then say “You’re bluffing!”. You return your card and must justify yourself. The voting phase follows to find out if you have been convincing enough!
On the other hand, if no one calls the bluff, it’s the next player’s turn. We start from the last Word card revealed.
3. Draw a card. You can play it immediately or skip your turn.
4. Play a Monique card instead of a Word card. Each card has its specificities written on it. The next player starts from the last revealed Word card.

And the humor in all this?
If during your justification, you manage to make your accuser laugh, you win! Finally your justification is validated.
Because you will have to get rid of all your cards to really win. Prepare your speech, the assembly is ready to vote!

Spice up your games with the red cards: only to be taken out when the children and other sensitive souls are in bed. 😉
