Fugitive arrested near Angers: residents are relieved

The fugitive, suspected of having killed two people, was apprehended on Tuesday July 4 in Angers (Maine-et-Loire). On site, journalist Laura Striano takes stock of the situation. “It is a return to normal, to appeasement for the residents of the various municipalities concerned the important research device deployed by the police”, she assures. And to add: “In recent hours, nearly 900 homes have been secured by the gendarmes who have multiplied control operations, door to door.”

A worker behind the arrest

Local residents are therefore reassured, “those who confided that they did not lock their front door”, reports Laura Striano. Nevertheless, “they were mobilized to the end”, assures the journalist. Indeed, it was the report of a worker about a theft of food on a construction site that led to the arrest of the fugitive.
