Lebanon is heading for chaos and the population is on the brink of crisis. The price of gasoline, which has become a luxury, has increased by 550% and there are many shortages. Report from Beirut.

In Lebanon, the evil is deep. In the country, the price of gasoline has exploded, sometimes reaching as high as 8 euros per liter. The financial crisis has important consequences. Most gas stations are empty, the state can no longer subsidize petroleum products, and some are sold on the black market. Sally Abou Nasr owns a gas station in Beirut, but deliveries are scarce.

“We will try to open two days, we need to work”, she reacts. Dozens of cars have been parked in front for several days. Refueling has become an unattainable luxury for many. The security forces are watching, because the tension is high between the inhabitants. People shout, a man talks about his sick child. “We are on our way to hell. It is anger, injustice, the minimum does not exist”, laments Sally Abou Nasr. A year after the explosion of the port of Beirut, the country is getting closer and closer to chaos.
